Restored Clothing Community Project

cg_55Restored’s most recent Community Project took place at the Free Store right here in Chico. The Free Store is operated by the Jesus Center, and is an outlet for low-income citizens and the homeless to come in and get new clothes. The set up is really unique and helpful. According to Free Store volunteer Frank, people are able to get monthly vouchers of $25, and come in to pick up anything from $4 pairs of pants, to $3 pairs of shorts, to socks and shoes, etc. etc. Today’s project also implemented two Restored Clothing volunteers. Dustin Cook and Mahlon Rice donated their time to sort clothes, help out, and give back. They really enjoy helping Restored Clothing mobilize, and stressed that giving back is great and really doesn’t take as much time as people think, anything helps!

The Project went smoothly leaving Restored Clothing, the volunteers, and the Free Store all feeling fulfilled. According to Free Store Director Mickey Taylor, people are always encouraged to volunteer and donate. For donations and volunteer information, contact the Jesus Center or swing by their location @ 13th and Park. Also, the Free Store is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
